Free online controller tester for PS4, PS5 and Xbox
Use this free PC controller tester to inspect PlayStation 4 DualShock 4, PlayStation 5 DualSense, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S controllers. Connect by USB data cable or pair with your computer’s Bluetooth, open this page in a desktop browser and press a face button to begin. No account or download is required.
What can I test?
Watch live button presses and releases, D-pad directions, shoulder buttons, analogue triggers and both joystick axes. Check joystick movement, outer sweep coverage and return to centre, then measure the hands-off rest position to investigate possible stick drift. The tester suggests a controller picture from the browser’s device name; select the correct model manually if the name is ambiguous.
Does it test vibration and every controller feature?
Run separate strong and weak motor vibration commands when your browser and connection support them. Some Home, PS, Xbox, Share, touchpad-click and extra buttons may be intercepted or reported as numbered inputs. Audio, charging, battery health, touch gestures, motion sensors and PS5 adaptive-trigger resistance need the console and physical checks listed in this tool.
How do I check for stick drift?
Put the controller on a stable surface, release both sticks and run the three-second rest measurement. Compare the average and maximum centre offsets, then repeat. The adjustable warning threshold is a comparison aid, not a manufacturer specification or a definitive hardware diagnosis. This tool does not apply a software deadzone or recalibrate your controller.
Why has my controller not appeared?
Keep this tab active and press a controller button. Try a USB data cable, another USB port or Bluetooth pairing, and close games or remapping tools that capture input. An up-to-date desktop Chrome or Edge browser is a useful starting point. Generic device names may require manual picture selection; non-standard mappings remain labelled as raw numbered inputs.
Can I use the controller tester on a phone?
Controller testing is PC only and is not available on mobile browsers. Open this same page on a desktop or laptop computer. You can still read these instructions on your phone.
Are results saved or sent anywhere?
Input readings and your manual observations stay in this browser tab. Download a local JSON test report or print the results on your computer. The tester does not access customer, ticket or staff records and does not issue an overall hardware pass or fail.
